Each student in the Medical Assisting program is required to finish a 160‐hour unpaid off‐campus Medical Assisting Externship along with your standard course requirements in order to graduate. Imagine feeling prepared to take medical histories and log vital signs, prepare patients for medical examinations, assist the primary physician during medical examinations, collect and prepare specimens, perform basic laboratory tests, sterilize medical instruments, draw blood, and take electrocardiograms.
